Theodora Varnay Jones is a visual artist working in 2D and 3D mediums. She writes that: “The work I produce in reductive, abstract style concerns depth, accumulation, and the shifting nature of perception. My interest involves four primary areas of investigation: Systems (series and structures), Perception (transparency and visual ambiguity), Relativity (cognition and context), and Time (linear progression and layering). These areas are reflected in a diverse array of genre I’m working in, including installation, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and digital media.”

In the fall of 2015, six of Varnay Jones’s drawings made at the Lucid Art Residency under the common title Appearances were exhibited at the Lena & Roselli Gallery in Budapest. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S., Japan, Hungary, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Korea, among others, and is in many public collections in the U.S., Hungary, Costa Rica, and Japan. She was born in Budapest, Hungary, and lives and works in San Francisco, California.
