Amy Ho is a spatial installation artist. She writes: “Space is the most immediate medium through which we understand the world, yet we often take it for granted. I am interested in exploring how our environment impacts our experiences, memories, and identities. Many of my video installations utilize images of imagined or remembered environments--places one accesses mentally but not physically. Recent projects include a series of installations involving the recreation of decades old memories from incarcerated individuals and another series exploring the changing architectural landscape of my previous home, San Francisco, California. Through projected images of architecture, I ask viewers to stop, feel, and consider the world around them. Only by slowing down can we recognize our relationship to the physical world around us.”

Ho has exhibited in the Czech Republic, U.S., and Japan. She is an acting trustee at OUTPOST in Norwich, United Kingdom. She was selected as a KQED Woman to Watch in 2017, received a Zellerbach Family Foundation Community Arts Grant in 2016, and a San Francisco Arts Commission Individual Artists Grant in 2013. She lives and works in Norwich, United Kingdom.
